Shilton Bizie Phiri
Shilton Bizie Phiri is a Health Systems Fellow/Intern focusing on Health Workforce Economics. Trained as an Economist (MSc) at Umeå University in Sweden, specialising in Health Economics. His recent work involved modelling latent household healthcare spending in Malawi and assessing how socioeconomic factors shape healthcare access and financial protection. He also holds a postgraduate diploma in Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, strengthening his ability to assess and improve health programme performance from Midlands State University in Zimbabwe, where he also graduated with a BCom Economics (Honours) Degree. Shilton is passionate about applying data-driven approaches to inform health workforce optimisation, Human Resources for Health (HRH) policy design, and he looks forward to contributing to evidence-based planning and the development of a more efficient and equitable health system in Malawi.
